Congratulations! The fact that you’re reading this likely means that you have reason to believe that a woman from the Philippines is into you. It’s an amazing feeling for sure, but it’s completely natural to sense a bit of anxiety as well. How sure can you be that she’s flirting with you and not just being friendly? Filipino culture is all about the expression of love and the importance of family. This is very much in contrast to western culture. Especially US culture, which is mostly about individualism and crushing everyone in your path to get to the top.

Since being friendly is a core part of Filipino culture, it’ll be a little difficult for most Western guys to figure out. Is she just being nice? Or does she really like you? Here’s how to tell:

1. She starts becoming protective of you

This is by far and away one of the clearest signs that a Filipina likes you. If you notice that she starts becoming overly concerned for your health and well-being, it’s a very clear sign that she thinks very highly of you.

Remember: people from the Philippines put family first, and will drop everything going on in their lives to protect and help close family members.

• When she starts checking in on you to make sure you’re happy and healthy, she likes you.
• If she brings you food on a regular basis, she likes you.
• If she brings you gifts, she definitely likes you.

Important: you must reciprocate this. Ignoring her love and affection is very much going to turn her off, so don’t be an idiot. Be thankful (and grateful) that she thinks so highly of you.

To be honest, a woman who laughs at your jokes (no matter where she came from) is pretty clear sign that she’s into you. However, it’s a little different with Filipinas.

You have to remember that Filipino women are very traditional and not as outgoing compared to women from western cultures. More often than not, it will take them a little bit longer to open up and become comfortable with you.

If a Filipina has the courage to approach a man and ask him out, it’s a pretty big deal. Even if all she wants to do is hang out and get coffee. It goes against everything she was taught, and by doing so, it shows her drive and determination to get closer to you.

Warning: If she seems too interested in the right from the beginning, it could be a sign that she is trying to scam you. Take things slow, and pay attention to what is really happening.

6. She talks about you to her friends

Gossip (with you being the primary subject of said gossip) is a very clear sign that a Filipina is interested in you. And chances are, it won’t take long to find out if it’s actually happening or not.

Filipino women like to gossip, and if your circle of friends is close and tight enough, chances are good that rumors of these discussions will come back to you in some way.
